Hycamite selects Sweco as the engineering partner of its hydrogen-producing pilot plant
Hycamite TCD Technologies has selected Sweco to engineer its pilot plant for industrial hydrogen production. The plant will be built in Kokkola Industrial Park (KIP), Finland, which is the largest concentration of the inorganic chemical industry in Northern Europe.

Hycamite announces a pilot plant for zero-emission hydrogen production
Hycamite TCD Technologies is planning to break ground on an industrial pilot plant for sustainable hydrogen production in Finland. At the pilot plant, the company will test its new hydrogen production technology at factory scale. Hycamite has reserved an area for the new plant in the Kokkola Industrial Park (KIP), which has the highest concentration of inorganic chemical industry in Northern Europe.
Hycamite becomes Kokkolan Energia’s gas customer
Hycamite TCD Technologies, which produces hydrogen and clean solid carbon from natural gas, buys natural gas from Kokkolan Energia. Hycamite and Kokkolan Energia have entered into a letter of intent. The agreement on the future supply of gas confirms Kokkolan Energia’s plans to become a major industrial gas supplier in its area.

Larger hydrogen production facilities for Hycamite in Finland
Hycamite TCD Technologies, formerly known as Hydrogenius, has opened a new, larger laboratory. New facilities enable Hycamite to significantly increase its testing and production capacity.

“Finnish industry is currently planning several projects using hydrogen. For the time being, however, the price of hydrogen produced by wind and solar power is too expensive to carry out many important projects”, write Hycamite CEO Laura Rahikka and COB Matti Malkamäki in their letter to the editor of Helsingin Sanomat, the leading newspaper of Finland.
