Networks

Hycamite TCD Technologies is an internationally networked company that promotes sustainable energy transition.

European Clean Hydrogen Alliance (ECH2A)

Hycamite is a member of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance. The ECH2A aims at an ambitious deployment of hydrogen technologies by 2030, bringing together renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production, industry demands, and hydrogen transmission and distribution. Through the alliance, the EU wants to establish global leadership in the domain of hydrogen technologies and support the EU’s commitment to reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

Hycamite CEO Laura Rahikka is a member of the European Clean Hydrogen CEO roundtable on renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production. Hycamite COB Matti Malkamäki is a member of the CEO roundtable on clean hydrogen in the energy sector.

BotH2nia

BotH₂nia is an international network for building a large-scale hydrogen economy around the Gulf of Bothnia. The BotH₂nia network serves as an umbrella brand and collaboration platform for hydrogen-related initiatives in the region. It will facilitate communication between projects and promote hydrogen-related technologies and production in the Gulf of Bothnia. While the core area of the network is the northern arm of the Baltic Sea, the initiative covers the whole of Finland as well as Sweden and other countries around the Baltic Sea.

As a member of the Steering Group of the Finnish Hydrogen Cluster, Hycamite COB Matti Malkamäki is a lead for the BotH₂nia network.

Projects

Hycamite is developing novel technologies through several project partnerships. The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) have supported two projects: Thermal Decomposition of Methane and Carbomite. Additionally, export of carbon dioxide-free energy technology to international markets has received Tempo funding from Business Finland.

CO₂-free hydrogen production technology development

The purpose of the Thermal Decomposition of Methane project is to develop carbon dioxide-free hydrogen energy production equipment for small- and medium-sized enterprises, which supports the EU’s carbon neutrality goal. Hycamite is developing technology for the project together with the University of Tampere and University of Oulu.

Carbomite

The Carbomite project is building a pilot-scale hydrogen and carbon production plant at the Kokkola Industrial Park (KIP). The goal is to develop and test pilot-scale production equipment for CO₂-free hydrogen production, then to extend its production to various carbon allotropes.

Export of carbon dioxide-free energy technology to international markets

This project is developing a strategy for Hycamite’s internationalisation through customer mapping and creating contacts with potential hydrogen and carbon customers. Hycamite is creating a framework and goals for later R&D and a pilot project.
